- year 4
- half day session
Materials
Wach table is covered with drawing paper and holds a pile of various broken and working toys, screwdrivers, sellotape, rubber bands, cocktail sticks and string.
Hot melt glue gun, pencils and paper.
The class were asked to think about the toys they play with, what they do, how they work, and how they could be changed. They explored the potential of the toys by drawing them, taking them apart, and creating new toys using the dismantled parts.
My workshops are always framed by a class critical discussion at the start (explanation) and end (evaluation, sharing) of the session – to develop speaking and listening, critical awareness, vocabulary, respect for each other’s creativity and ultimately build self confidence.
