2012 – ongoing Artist at Swallownest Court, Rotherham, working with adults with mental health issues.
2012 – ongoing Artist mentor at Artists In Mind (AIM), Huddersfield. Developing and delivering the inSide project with artists with mental health issues in secure units, prisons and hospitals
2010 – ongoing Freelance artist in schools: working throughout pre-school, Foundation, KS1 & KS2, and with various Special Schools inc. EBD, PMLD, SLD, autism, MLD, visually and hearing impaired.

Includes collaborative work with teachers, after school clubs and lunchtime clubs as a visiting artist embedding creativity into the curriculum. I have recently worked with the Calderdale Extended Schools Programme.

2012 Artist in residence for Exploring Landscapes Pennine Lancashire. One of six artists forming a residential hub for creative consultation and engagement at Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve and Urban Park, Oswaldtwistle.
2010 – 2011 “Watershed Landscape Project-” commission, to make a new body of work in response to the upper landscape of the South Pennines.

Exhibition of the resulting work at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, Bradford with gallery workshops and talks. Installed geo-caching at Lister Park, Mytholmroyd and on Widdop Moor, collaborating with Watershed poet Andrew McMillan.

2010 – 2011 Artist working with “Proper Job Theatre Co”, creative consultation with local children producing “a play in a week”.
2010 – 2011 Body Drawing Days papering out rooms- exploring drawing using the whole body.
2010 Artist working for LOCA on new playground for Greenhead Park, Kirklees, with creative play consultant & landscape architect : devised and ran consultation engagement with community groups, followed by the design, fabrication and installation of interactive sculptural play elements in the park, focusing on loose parts provision and natural play.
2010 Ravenscliffe SEN High School, Halifax. Drawing workshops resulting in whole school, performance, with several creative practitioners.
2009 – 2010 Part-time tutor for Calderdale Adult Learning – working with adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities – running courses in art and drama/movement.
2009 The Avenue Special School, Reading, working with ASD, pmld, mld students and staff. Students exploring their environment and physical space through drawing, movement and making sculpture.
2005-2009 Artist commissions working closely with a landscape designer to run projects with community groups, producing permanent artwork for London parks and connecting them to their local environment.

One project won the Local Government New Street Design Awards 2009, in the children’s play category.

Responsibilities included:

  • tailoring sessions to individual students’ needs
  • care of a personal tutor group of 12 students
  • discussing and documenting individual learning plans with students
  • supervising support workers
  • setting up and organising the smooth running of the space/room
  • organising materials, tools and all learning aids
  • maintaining registers and following up absences
  • writing risk assessments for on and off site work
  • carrying out enrolment and baseline assessments
  • course and programme evaluation
  • devising and setting up new courses
  • liaising between home and college with help of support workers
  • documenting student work for portfolios, proof of target attainment, self reflective practise and display
